Ysgol Glan Gele is located on the North Wales coast with access to some of the 11,000 miles of coastline around the British Isles. Beach school offers learners regular sessions in a unique environment which provides countless learning opportunities, whatever the weather! During their block of Beach School sessions the children visit a variety of beaches, including Pensarn, Rhos-on-Sea and Llanfairfechan, ensuring the use of their transferable skills.

During our Beach School sessions we focus on safety, environmental awareness and using the holistic development of the child.

Children experience a variety of activities such as,

• Natural art
• Identification
• Exploration
• Rock pooling
• And so much more!

Beach School programmes run throughout the year regardless of the weather. Children are encouraged to take responsibility for their choice of clothing depending on the weather. Children are also encouraged to set their own boundaries on the beach and manage their own risks.

We also have our very own Beach School site in Glan Gele, this can be used on the very odd occasion that we cannot make it to the beach. This site is also used for class related topics as well as teaching beach safety, identification of natural resources and to deliver 'Dont touch, tell'. The Beach is also timetabled for the classes to use during playtime and lunch time, with access to a variety of resources.
