Discipline
Ysgol Glan Gele has an Assertive Discipline Policy whereby the children are rewarded for their good behaviour and attitudes during their time here. We foster good behaviour, good manners and respect for selves and others. “Happy and secure as we all learn together”.
We focus upon positive aspects and the children are involved in the process of rule setting within their classes. The children understand that if their rules are broken there are consequences and they are clear about what the consequences are.
Equally, when the children stick to the rules, they are rewarded in a variety of ways – They may be given a golden sash, certificates, stickers, star of the week and also an award for speaking welsh.
The children are also encouraged to share any other achievements they may obtain – be these in or outside school – and we celebrate their achievements with them either in our classes or Assemblies.
These aspects are all areas which foster our behaviour policy; consistency and continuity are key to the policy’s success and when parents experience phases of difficult behaviour at home we would encourage them to adopt this method which school can support.
