Glan Gele Clubs
Ysgol Glan Gele has its own Breakfast Club called ‘Roosters’. It is held each day from 8 am until school starts and there is no cost although we do ask for a voluntary contribution of 25p a day towards the upkeep of resources and games.
We have an After School Club which is run by Bubbles Day Nursery. It is open to all pupils in Glan Gele and St Elfod. The club is open from 3pm– 5.00pm. A variety of activites are provided and a snack and drink. Frequent newsletters home from the Headteacher will keep you informed and updated about life in the school.
Ysgol Glan Gele prides itself with the extra opportunities it gives to our children. We provide an abundance of extra-curricular activities where we endeavour to enhance the children’s experiences beyond their classrooms thus providing support for a whole host of the children’s needs.
Some of these activities are physical such as Dance Club, Physical Activity Club and Cycling Club. Others are providing the children with social and/or emotional support where they are given opportunities to interact with others and relax such as Clwb Enfys, Raccoons and Turtle Club.
The children are also given the opportunity to attend clubs with an informal academic element such as Reading Club, Maths Club and ICT where they are able to explore with a variety of technical items such as; Computers/Promethean Boards/Roamers/Bee Bots/Digital Cameras/Video Cameras and the new NXT Robot.
For those children who prefer a more gentle interest we have the choir – here the children sing and have experiences of a variety of musical instruments also.
These clubs are run throughout the school year and are well attended by our enthusiastic and committed Glan Gele children.
