Year 2

Welcome to Year 2 at Glan Gele where we have 3 classes, The Lions, The Tigers and The Bears!

 We enjoy a meet and greet session with our parents early in the first half term to introduce ourselves and tell you how we work in Year 2.  We give all sorts of information that you may already know about such as school dinner prices and our fruit routines,  PE kit, etc,  but we also share many new things with you such as how we run our reading and spelling homework tasks, our swimming regimes and our general Year 2 routines.

We encourage the children to become more independent and take more responsibility for their learning and their belongings in Year 2. 

The children have the chance to access a wide range of activities and topics throughout the year. Some of the topics we study include 'Dens and Dandelions', 'Carnival Capers' and 'Blast Off!' 

We have the chance to attend Forest Schools and Beach Schools throughout the year, and have the opportunity to attend a range of clubs. We also have the chance to perform in our very own Christmas pantomime as well as going to watch a professional one in Rhyl (although it is never as professional as our own!)

In the Summer term we aim to provide the children with a smooth and stress free transition to the Juniors where a whole new world will begin for them. This is a very special time, but it is also a bit sad for us all as their journey through Ysgol Glan Gele comes to an end. We celebrate this this with our very own 'Glan Gele's Got Talent' performance in Emrys Ap Iwan's theatre - a highlight on the academic calendar for the whole school!
